Our commitment to the NHS

The Government announced last July that they plan to shut the A&E at King George Hospital by the middle of 2015.

This goes against their promise of no change at King George until Queen's could cope and its A&E is ready to take extra people.

Waiting times at Queen's and King George's A&Es have shot up since 2010.

At the same time, only 1 in 2 people get an appointment with their GP locally within a week.

GP's have got to be more accessible. For example, they should be open 7 days a week.

We will continue to campaign for better GP services and to keep King George A&E open for all the residents of the borough.

Our pledges

Keeping King George A&E

We will continue to call for King George A&E to be kept open.

Call for improvements at Queen's

We will continue to call for improvements at Queen's Hospital.

Commitment to local walk-in Centres

We back local walk-in centres like the one at Barking Community Hospital in Upney Lane. We have opposed the closure of the walk-in centre in Broad Street, Dagenham.

Better GP Services

We want to see better GP Services open 7 days a week.

Commitment to Barking Hospital

We want to see more services being based at Barking Community Hospital.
